Just been watching Cream on telly and it reminded me of a great band I saw at the Windsor Hotel in Pontyclun just after Christmas, and lo and behold I looked them up on the web and found this page about them (amongst dozens more!) Blue Blisters played a magnificent set, and amongst the songs they played were unbelievable interpretations of 2 classic Cream songs, Sunshine of your love, and Crossroads. If you closed your eyes, Clapton, Bruce and Baker were on the stage that night. Its nice to have somewhere to tell everyone else what a fantastic trio these boys make. Now that I have their website in my favourites I can pop out to see them whenever they are around this way - and thoroughly recommend them for a great night's musical entertainment - Billy

A double-whammy! First off we beat Fiji by a single point in the rugby, then this!! A few of the regulars were taking the micky as the band arrived, with what seemed like a mountain of speakers, but their comments changed to delight once Blue Blisters started their set - instead of being deafened, we were treated to a night of unbelievably varied music, well played and incredibly well sung. about 20 "Gary Moores" helped out with the vocals at the end of the first half, and we all stayed till well after the encores. This is a band well worth hearing. Individually, they are superb, as a band, they are simply AWESOME!! Glad to see they were immediately booked back to the "Oak" for a few nights next year. next time we will bring our mates too!

This is a band that really does what it says on the tin. As the set started, the bassist announced that they were going to play "Music to eat burgers by" and began their set with the Peter Green/Santana classic "Black Magic Woman"- apart from bringing a smile to my lips, it also made me enjoy my meal a little more, and I polished it off to the strains of a well-performed avant-garde rendition of "Stir it up" - a tremendously strong version of a favourite reggae classic played in a solid and powerful rock style, but still retaining that unmistakable Carribean feel. They followed with a soulful version of Dylan's "Knocking on Heaven's Door", where the bassist suddenly became the (extremely competent) lead guitarist!! As if by magic, they went straight into a couple of 'Stones classics, equally well played, and by now had the audiences full attention and well-deserved applause. I was amazed that during these songs, the line-up consisted of 2 guitars, and drums, yet I didn't notice any absence of a bass, that must be a first!! I will definitely go and see them again when they are back in this neck of the woods, and next time I will bring my air-guitar. Great gig lads!!

We saw Blue Blisters advertized at the Pencelli Hotel, and out of curiousity checked out their website address which was on the posters. As we were impressed with what we saw and read about them on the net, we decided to go and check them out live. All I can say is that this is an exceptional band and they give it everything from start to finish with a brilliant mix of music. I am not sure if it was 3 or 4 encores now, but they were top notch right up to the time that they pulled the plugs and said goodnight. Great show boys, we will be looking out to see if we can catch you out this way again. We have been home for nearly 2 hours and are still talking about what a great night out we had - thanks boys :)

Blue Blisters played a charity gig for us in August at Crumlin RFC and we all thought they were awesome. So much so I have booked them for my birthday bash at the same club in October and Im sure the club will be booking them for future events so watch out and come along to the rugby club for an excellant night with some awesome entertainment when the Blue Blisters play there again

I was at the Harp gig too. I thought the band played very well and particularly liked the bass. Being a bass player myself, I was impressed with the way that the bassist played and enjoyed the little solos he did. The others were great too, just that I was watching and listening to how he got all of those sounds out of 1 pickup

Saw these boys at the Margam Rock Festival, and they got my vote in the "Top 5 Bands" poll, which I now see they won. Thats no surprise, they were outstanding! I had to see them again, so I went to The Harp in Mountain Ash, and have to say it was one of the best live pub gigs I ever went to. The set was longer and more diverse than they did at Margam & showed off their musical skills even better than they could at Margam.I have been to The Harp a few times before, but never was it so packed as last Thursday. Obviously, Blue Blisters get good local support, and boy oh boy, they deserve it :) Great show lads - I will certainly be coming to see you again, and soon

Sorry Louisa, and to anyone else that couldn't log on to our website, but our service provider screwed up during the hosting upgrade and put us off line for a few days. www.blueblisters.com is now back up and running, and will soon be updated with some exciting new content, so keep checking back. Also, on behalf of the band, I would like to say a big thank you for those of you that have taken the time to post comments here, and a special thank you to our constantly-growing regular audience, its really nice to see people popping up at different venues, and is much appreciated by all of us. - I was also very overwhelmed by the number of well-wishers who offered their support after my recent operation - Thank You, Scotty

I can't get onto your website. I was trying to find out where you are playing next 'cos I wanna come and see you. I enjoy your songs SO MUCH and I need my "Fix". HELP!!!!!!!!!

Kelly, Port Talbot Thu Aug 11 20:54:03 2005
I saw them at Margam too, exceptional band. Had a hard time deciding whether I preferred them or Celtic Pride, who played on Friday. In the end, I decided that I enjoyed both bands equally, as they put different flavours on their presentation - Celtic Pride were a more "heavy" band, whereas Blue Blisters were more melodic. Seperated by a fag paper!!

Easyrider's Missus, Yellow Chopper Festival Wed Aug 10 11:30:51 2005
Well Judy, you were right to come to the Yellow Chopper Festival at Margam Park last weekend, where there were a lot of bands there, but only a few really good bands. Blue Blisters are well and truly amongst that select few. I have to take my hat off to these guys, they put on a tremendous show on Saturday afternoon, which I (& apparently everyone else in the tent) enjoyed from start to finish. All 3 should be commended on their musicianship, and the set had all the elements I look for at a gig. A tight, musical, harmonious group, with some well-written songs, and they were obviously having fun too. I'll be coming to see you again, and would like to see you higher up the bill if you come back to the festival next year. Great show boys

Had to go and see Blue Blisters at the Hanbury after reading the comments on this site, and must say that I am really glad I did! What an amazing band, theres no doubt that this is a class act, and they never stopped smiling and joking with the audience all night. I was impressed enough to go and see them on a big stage, so look out for me and my girlfriends at Margam Park lads, we'll be cheering you on with a few more regulars from the Hanbury, snd can't wait till you are back there. Loved your own songs too :)

Colin and George, Mountain Ash Fri Jul 22 20:05:26 2005
AWESOME!! Thats about the best way to describe this band. Have seen them a few times in the past couple of years, they just get better and better. The gig at The Harp last night was one of their best performances to date, and it seems that they are now developing their own new material, which they played with gusto!! We have seen loads of bands at The Harp, never seen any get the reception these guys got last night, and they really deserved it. We can't wait for your next visit to Mountain Ash. Col and George

Gemma from Abercynon Fri Jul 22 01:32:46 2005
Have just seen the Blue Blisters at The Harp and I can honestly say that they were absolutely fabulous. They played such a wonderful range of music which also included some excellent new 'own tunes' dreamt up by the very sexy guitarist. He certainly knows how to write rock. After 2 broken strings they had to stop after the second encore, but ever the professional, the guitarist played on until the end. The bassist was fab and played a 6 string for some numbers. The drummer was very strong and played brilliantly. WELL DONE lads. I'll definitely come and see you again. Gemma xxx (one each!!)

Frank, Church Village Wed Jul 20 10:48:17 2005
This is one superb little band. Have made the journey (based on previous comments here) to see Blue Blisters twice, and can say with my hand on my heart that they are the best local rock band I have seen in years. An amazingly diverse set, encompassing everything I loved from the 60's to now, and played magnificently. You don't get many bassists picking up a 335 and playing lead for several numbers, adding a completely different sound and perspective to the set with some amazing jazz/blues riffs, then kicking out some real authentic Stones and Beatles numbers. All 3 members are musicians of the highest order, and the lead and harmony vocals are second to none. Thoroughly good gigs, and you can see that they really enjoy doing it! In the words of Arnie "I'll be back. . . ."

It was the Blisters first time at the club and definately not the last, they were ab fab catering for everyones taste which was really appreciated by the audience. Hooray for the internet otherwise I wouldn't have found this brilliant group, if you get the chance go and see them you won't be dissapointed.

We saw you at the bute last sunday and were really impressed. first time we stayed to the end - you guys know how to rock and we will watch for you when you come back. Great show (i'm the guy with the grey beard that asked for your card and i am going to try and get you a gig in my local pub)Nice website too, found it easy to navigate. Wales needs more bands like you

Megan, Bargoed Thu Apr 21 16:25:20 2005
Have seen them twice now, and although they don't suit my own musical taste (I prefer Folk/Rock myself) they are indeed a pretty good band, and I couldn't fault what they do or their musicianship. I found the singing, both lead, and harmonies, to be of a good standard, so I'm not sure what the other commentator was referring to when he says the singer (which one?) doesnt have much of a voice. The guitar player and bass player both sing, and do so quite well.

To Cropper: you have obviously formed an opinion on them, but if thats it why did you see them 3 times? I happen to think they are a cracking band and I see (& hear) bands every week too

Pete Fogerty Glancynon Tue Apr 19 18:31:36 2005
I often read messages, but don't normally leave them on web sites, but feel the need to offer my support to these boys. Well Mr,Ms(or whatever title you prefer) Cropper, I, and several of my mates, have seen this band numerous times during the past year and a half, as well as many others, some good, some not so good. In my opinion, which may not count for a lot, they are a superb, tight little band with strong musicianship and vocals. We go out of our way to see them when they are local to the Cynon Valley, and I would certainly not go and see a band "about 3 times" if I didn't like them! Music is a subjective matter, and we all have different tastes (thank goodness), but for what they do, they do it extremely well, and are always smiling and enjoying it(a rare thing these days). Rock on The Blue Blisters! There!! I've said my piece !!

cropper --- merthyr Mon Apr 18 14:50:03 2005
seen this band about 3 times. Anyone who thinks this is a great band ought to get out more often. I watch live music every week and i can name you 50 better bands than this lot. Theres nothing wrong with them its just that they are all pretty average musicians and the singer does not have much of a voice. Sorry but thats just the way it is

Tommy Sadler, Aberbargoed Thu Apr 14 22:20:12 2005
Saw you in The Hanbury twice this year, and have to agree with the lady that you had a problem with the volume on your guitars last week, but I also came to see you at The Angel and it was a lot better, although still a bit prone to feeding back, especially your SG. Have done gigs at The Hanbury myself in the past, and I think the acoustics are abysmal, and that little stage in the corner doesnt help:) I'll be back next time you are in the area, you 3 make a tidy band and play all my favourites a lot better than my band did :)

Cameron, Blue Blisters (Guitar & Vocals) and bandana Mon Apr 11 21:37:21 2005
Sue (and anybody else there that night), humblest apologies for the appalling guitar sound at the Hanbury. I've been really depressed about it. Tech-heads: I believe I had an input valve going microphonic and I've now sorted it. Many thanks to everyone for the INCREDIBLE support and thanks to Craig for bringing us back down to earth a bit.

Charlie Evans, Aberdare Thu Apr 7 19:56:34 2005
Hi boys, I looked up your website after the Wave Aid concert, and have to say that it's almost as good as your band was at the show. You were outstanding so I'm going to take the missus for a night out to one of your local gigs. Can you make sure that you remember to have a CD with you at the next few please? Couldn't resist putting a message for you here after reading the others, hope thats ok, Charlie

Sue from Bargoed Tue Apr 5 08:12:03 2005
Hey Guys, I was so looking forward to seeing you at the Hanbury. What happened? You were so LOUD that it hurt and the guitar kept screaming. I'm really sorry but I couldn't stay. Please, turn it down a little bit next time. In spite of the pain, I'm still going to come and see you again. I suppose you were just having an "off day". We all have them now and then! Looking forward to it.

Craig, Nelson Mon Apr 4 16:12:22 2005
Very average band. Drummer is Ok. You lot must have a lot of people on the payroll. Get out and see more bands and youll see what I mean.
